Incendio! Cast these five Harry Potter spells on Amazon

Want to cast spells like Harry Potter and Hermione? All you need to do is head to and remember five words.

Fantastic Beasts on Amazon

The online store has teamed up with the new Potter universe movie, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” which opens November 18. Here’s what to do.

1) Go to Amazon and type “aguamenti” into the site’s search box (capital or lowercase letters both worked for us). Oooh, you’ve conjured a flood of water, which gently waves over Amazon’s page of search results for Harry Potter materials before offering you a movie promo to watch and a link where you can buy tickets.

2) Want to fight that water with fire? Try typing “incendio” to see bright-colored flames suddenly start licking at your computer screen.

3) An unexpectedly beautiful spell to try is “orchideous,” which will send your screen bursting into colorful flowers. It’s also touching, if you remember that Hermione once used it to present Harry with flowers to put on the graves of his parents.

4) Now try “reducto!” In the books, it blasts things into pieces, on Amazon, it will make your computer screen briefly appear cracked.

5) And last but not least, typing “lumos” will briefly turn your screen dark, then slowly brighten it up with a white light.

Earlier, we told you about a partnership between Google and the new Harry Potter universe film, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” that let Android users cast a few spells, including “lumos,” using their phones. But if your phone was a little hard-of-hearing, your spells might have failed. These Amazon spells worked every time, as long as you spell your spells (!) correctly. They even worked on phones, though you need to go to Amazon, type the spell you want, and then confirm you want to see it by clicking on the “Fantastic Beasts” link that pops up ahead of regular search results.

Wondering about the darker Potter spells, like torturing spell “crucio” and killing curse “avada kedavra”? Amazon knew you’d want to try them. When you do, it offers up a link to movie info, but doesn’t cause your screen to writhe in pain or kill your computer. Nice try, Voldemort.
