Err, is this basically the best Christmas temp job you’ve ever heard of? Probably. As if wrapping presents wasn’t the most fun ever anyway, with this £8 an hour gig you get to wrap presents ordered online from The Harry Potter Shop at Platform 9 3/4.


2. Studio Tour cash controller at the Studio Tour

This is an opportunity to work at the actual Harry Potter Studio Tour, aka to live in Hogwarts for two days a week. The part-time job involves being responsible for all the cash handling procedures at the tour and ensuring daily reporting is completed to standard.


3. Park cook at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Love cooking almost as much as you love Harry Potter? The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal’s LA park is currently recruiting for a chef to help bring all those magical meals to life for its visitors. So, not only could you spend your days brewing Butterbeer, but the job also includes a “complimentary ticket program for you to enjoy the theme park on your days off”. Where do we sign up?


4. Bar staff at the Cauldron Inn, Exeter

This pub dedicated to all things Potter opened earlier this year and hired a bunch of new staff to help deliver magic to punters on a daily basis. From serving up delicious grub to concocting cocktails or helping to throw Potter parties, there were lots of different roles available. You’ll have to contact them directly to see if they’re still hiring.

5. Permanent retail assistant at The Harry Potter Shop at Platform 9 3/4

If you dream of constantly being surrounded by Harry Potter merch and meeting other fans as they visit famous attractions, then this retail position at the Harry Potter Shop in London could be perfect. You’ll help with the photographic element at the shop, be responsible for keeping the shelves well stocked and in order, and interact with customers answering any queries they may have.


6. Interactor at the Studio Tour

If counting money isn’t really your bag, then this more hands-on role at the visitor’s experience might be more up your street. Perfect for Potterheads, in this job you will be on hand during the tour, “sharing interesting facts, stories, statistics and information, of the full range of experiences, products and services available to visitors at appropriate points in the Journey”.


7. Junior Social Media Assistant for Major League Quidditch


Quidditch is a real-life sport in the muggle world now, it just involves a little less flying. Get in on the action by joining the sports league and helping grow its social media presence. Other jobs for the MLQ include an events director and a statistics analyst. For all of the roles you have to know your Quidditch inside and out, be happy to relocate to the US, oh and be comfortable with a completely unpaid position. Hmmm…


8. Unpaid internship at MuggleNet

OK so the word unpaid isn’t exactly enticing, but there’s a reason that MuggleNet receive hundreds of applications for these roles – they’re worth it. Work from home writing HP content that fans will read all over the globe and get the opportunity to attend and report on premieres, conventions and other Harry Potter events whenever they crop up. Right now the site is recruiting for news writers, social media editors and Quidditch correspondents.
